Karla K. Mouse Redesign 2014

So this is my character from way back when. Karla Ken Kangeroo Mouse.

Age: 25

Likes: Dancing, fruits, Nuts, Cool Colors

Dislikes: Most men, her father

Background Info: 
    Karla was an innocent child of an abusive father. Her mother, Catherin, tried to protect her daughter as best as she could from her father by taking most of the beatings herself. She did everything her husband asked of her too, but that could never please him. In the end, Karla's mother knew that there was no way of raising her child with a monster like him. So when he was out drinking with his buddies at a bar on a Sunday, the two escaped. Karla was only 7 when they left, and even though she was that young she still remembers all of the pain she and her mother went through together. Her father was a persisten man, and didn't like that they ditched him. He pursued them for many years, keeping Karla and her mother always on the run. It was eight years latter when her mother asked her to go out with a couple of her friends one evening, telling her that life isn't always this bad before Karla left. When she returned, her mothers things were gone and a note sat on the small appartment counter. 
    "I will always love you my dear, and so that is why I must leave. Your a big girl know, and I hope that you understand that I am not leaving because of you, but for you. I love you, and that is why you are safe know." 
Karla was broken by this, but had understood her mothers intentions. She had joined a dancing school where her and her mother were, and so moved in to the apartments that the school owned. The teacher latter on became her guardian, finding out what Karla had been through and that she needed someone to watch her until she was old enough to move on. Her teacher is a wonderful person who has showed Karla that life isn't always painful, that there is always hope. Karla, when she became 20, moved out and rented her own appartment. She has been making a living through profesional dancing and also through teaching self defence. She died her hair the colors of blue and green because they remind her that even though there is rain, there is always a green pasture after. Its a saying that her teacher and mother both told her, which is kinda funny. 

Interesting Facts: Her mother had two different eye colors, one oragne and the other a red. Her father was a black furred kangeroo mouse who was a heavy drinker. Her mother wanted to help her father and so married him in hopes that he would change for his family. Her mother didn't leave sooner because she thought that she could protect her child from the truth of her father. Her father was short while her mother was a little taller. She keeps one ear down because her hearing in one isn't that great. She loves music and has a beautiful voice, but is to shy too sing in front of others knowingly.  

Birthmark: The birthmark is just a strip of grey fur on the side of her left leg. She calls this a birthmark because her mother told her that it was a birthmark. 

Personality: She can become nervous when around men before she actually knows them. Her eyes always appear as if she is tired when really that is just how she looks. She laughs a lot to keep her sorrow hidden from others. She has some skills in counsiling, and will help whoever she can if they ask for it. She has a large heart that has been broken to many times to count, so she only lets in a few people like her dancing teacher and mother. Karla doesn't start conversations though she will continue them for as long as possible. She will be silent when it is time to be serious. Her past is something she doesn't talk about, ever.
